These annual awards are open to projects that are currently active, or recently active (including data collection, analysis, reporting, etc) since 2018, and are located in South Australia or its waters.

Nominations are welcome for citizen science projects that actively engage citizens in projects that encompass quality science, collaboration, engagement and education.

There are two prizes; first prize is $5,000 and the runner-up will receive $2,500.

Winners are encouraged to use the prize money to further support their project or generate new projects.
