Ranger guided sunset walks – Adelaide Shorebird and Dolphin Festival
Join the rangers on a guided sunset walk from Thompson Beach heading south to Third Creek. Hear how the samphire-covered (native succulent) tidal mudflats, mangrove stands and seagrass beds are used by migratory birds that arrive here every year. There will be plenty of time for bird spotting along the way and hopefully you will enjoy a perfect sunset.
This is an easy walk of about 4 km on a flat surface and beach.
Please note that this event may be cancelled in the event of poor weather.
Car park on Esplanade Road at the southern end of Thompson Beach
What to bring:
minimum 1 litre of water
long trousers and long-sleeved top recommended
hat/cap and sun screen
warm jumper and rainproof jacket just in case
