Little Bang Discovery Club

Children have an innate sense of curiosity about the world, constantly asking “Why?” at life’s many wonders. Inspiring South Australia aims to capture and develop children’s inquisitiveness with The Little Bang Discovery Club.

The Little Bang Discovery Club is a four week program for children aged 3 – 5 years old. Through a series of experiences and activities using everyday objects, children learn the basics of science: collecting, classifying, measuring and experimenting. In the final week, children take part in a mini Science Fair, showcasing their new discoveries.

Children who join the Little Bang Discovery Club also receive a Little Bang Discovery Box, which houses exciting treasures for the curious mind to sift through and explore.

The Little Bang Discovery Club has been rolled out across regional ad metropolitan South Australia. So far, the ‘train-the-trainer’ program has been delivered to over 150 librarians in 90 libraries.  There is now also an extension program for children who have completed the first iteration – Little Bang Discovery Plus training has, to date, been delivered to 39 librarians from 21 libraries.

The Little Bang Discovery Club is brought to you by Inspiring South Australia, in collaboration with Libraries SA and the Children’s Discovery Museum.
