The South Australian (SA) National Science Week Committee is thrilled to announce the winners of the SA National Science Week Grants. The projects from protons to drones, from Lego to VR, there is something for everyone. The grants provide funding to local organisations enabling them to deliver unique events and activities that fostering scientific engagement across SA during National Science Week.

The winning projects represent a diverse range of organisations showcasing different STEM disciplines and engaging audiences of all ages and backgrounds. From interactive workshops to citizen science initiatives, these initiatives promise to captivate and inspire communities throughout National Science Week.

Nineteen grants were awarded, with seven being awarded to projects in regional South Australia.

  • Food Down to a Science – Waite Research Institute
  • Fun for fur and feathers – how we enrich the life of zoo animals – Zoos South Australia
  • #HackTheDrones – WeCollaborate
  • Harnessing curiosity and connection in nature: a STEMM-inspired experience for girls and women – Nature Play SA
  • Inside Out – Tutti Arts Inc Barossa
  • Investigating Critical Corridors – Kangaroo Island / Victor Harbor Dolphin Watch
  • Lines in the Sand: 200 years of Alfred Russel Wallace OM FRS – Royal Society of South Australia
  • Mount Gambier Science Fair – The Science Collective
  • Night Lab: In Our Element – South Australian Museum
  • Ocean Science Day – Flinders University Marine Biology and Aquaculture Club
  • Science Week in Naracoorte – Naracoorte Library
  • Shining new light on traditional skills – SA CWA
  • STEMM in Film – Sharing and discovering STEMM through media – The Royal Institution of Australia
