Peter Pudney is an Associate Research Professor of Industrial and Applied Mathematics at the University of South Australia. He has been designing, building and racing solar and electric cars since 1993, and is part of the Scientific Faculty of the World Solar Challenge. In 2010 he led projects with the Cooperative Research Centre for Advanced Automotive Technologies to investigate the impact that electric vehicles would have on greenhouse gas emissions and on electricity grids in Australia. He has owned an electric car since 2019.
