SA National Science Week Grants are now open!

National Science Week, 15-23 August 2026, is Australia’s annual celebration of science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM).

This funding is targeted to supports events and activities that occur in and around National Science Week in August. The following grants are available:

  • up to $3000 (inc GST) for events and activities in metropolitan Adelaide
  • up to $3500 (inc GST) for events and activities in regional and remote areas

The assessment committee aims to announce the winners of this grant round in late May 2026.

Key dates for National Science Week grants:

  • Applications open 23 March 2026
  • Applications close 3 May 2026
  • Grant recipients announced end of May 2026
  • Successful applicants submit a valid tax invoice by 12 June 2026
  • Project must be delivered in August 2026
  • Post project report and evaluation submitted by 25 September 2026

These projects will provide opportunities to learn about, connect with and get excited about science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM). You are welcome to apply for more than one grant but for different projects. This funding is targeted to support events and activities between May 2026 and January 2027. General grant categories are below:

Community Science Engagement

Grants for projects delivering community science engagement and science communication projects in South Australia. Grant available:

  • Up to $3,500 for delivery in metropolitan Adelaide
  • Up to $4,500 for delivery in regional and remote South Australia
